Is the Solar Victoria battery loan still available?
No. Solar Victoria is no longer accepting applications for its battery loan. Eligible Victorian households can still access the Australian Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries discount.
How much is the federal battery discount?
The Australian Government describes the program as providing around a 30% discount on eligible small-scale systems overall. For installations from 1 May 2026, the first 14 kWh of usable capacity receives the full STC factor, capacity above 14 kWh to 28 kWh receives 60%, and capacity above 28 kWh to 50 kWh receives 15%. The exact value also depends on installation date and STC market value.
Do I need solar already?
An eligible battery must connect to new or existing rooftop solar. We can assess a battery retrofit or a combined solar-and-battery package.
Can a battery help with evening electricity prices?
A well-sized battery can store solar or lower-cost energy for use later, reducing the amount you buy during expensive evening periods. Actual savings depend on your tariff and usage profile.
