A BETTER ENERGY RHYTHM

Your roof works hardest when your home often doesn’t.

A battery shifts more of your solar into the hours you actually need it, so less of your evening power has to come from the grid.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Battery questions, without the sales fog.

Program rules and household results vary. We verify the details before quoting.

Can I combine the federal discount with a NSW battery rebate?

The old NSW installation discount is no longer available, but the NSW VPP connection incentive can be combined with the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount when the rules are met. The current VPP incentive covers batteries over 2 kWh and up to 50 kWh, is calculated on usable capacity up to 28 kWh, and can be claimed once per electricity meter (NMI).

What is the NSW Home Energy Saver loan?

Eligible NSW property owners with combined annual taxable household income up to $210,000 may apply for a zero-interest loan of up to $15,000 for approved energy upgrades, including solar and home batteries. Citizenship or permanent-residency, program and finance-provider criteria also apply.

How does the federal battery discount work in 2026?

The Australian Government describes the program as providing around a 30% discount on eligible small-scale systems overall. For installations from 1 May 2026, support is tiered: the first 14 kWh of usable capacity receives the full STC factor, capacity above 14 kWh to 28 kWh receives 60%, and capacity above 28 kWh to 50 kWh receives 15%. Your exact value depends on installation date, usable capacity and STC market value.

Do I need solar already?

An eligible battery must be connected to new or existing rooftop solar. If you do not have solar, we can assess a combined solar-and-battery plan.

Will a battery keep my whole home running in an outage?

Backup capability depends on the battery, inverter, switchboard and the circuits you choose to protect. We identify the essential loads during your assessment rather than promising blanket whole-home backup.
